Our Director

Ms. Carmen Sexton, director of Coppell Montessori Academy has taught children and prepared teachers in the Montessori System for more than 30 years. Her entire career path has been devoted to teaching children on the basis of Dr. Maria Montessori’s philosophy.

Her professional career began 3o+ years ago. She has worked in the capacity of a teacher, director and administrator of school facilities involving toddlers, pre-school, elementary and day-care programs.

She completed her studies at the Center of International Studies in Bergamo, Italy and received her AMI Diploma from Mario Montessori, son of Dr. Maria Montessori in 1973-74. She also has a degree in Children’s and Adolescent Psychology.

She is a member of:

• Association Montessori International since 1974
• American Montessori Society
• European Montessori

During these years Ms. Sexton has founded, started and directed Montessori Schools in the Dallas area. She is fluent in Italian, English and Spanish.
